Sarai Gascón Moreno

Six-time Paralympic medallist. Ten-time medallist at World Championships. 25-time European medallist. World Record at 50 m butterfly.

Sarai Gascón was born missing a part of her left arm. When she was three, she started swimming and at nine she joined the Club Nataciò Terrasa Swimming Club. At 14, she took part in the World Swimming Championship for the first time, in Durban (South Africa), where she secured the gold medal in the 100 m breaststroke. She took part in the Paralympic Games in Peking 2008, where she won a silver medal in the same event.

In London, four years later, she won two medals; silver for 100 m butterfly and a bronze for 100 m freestyle.

Then, in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, she added three silver medals; in the 100 m freestyle, the 200 m medley and the 100 m butterfly.

In addition to her participation in the Paralympic games, she has also won numerous medals at World and European Championships.
