Aina Cid

Two-time Olympic finalist, world medallist and triple European medallist.

Aina, an athlete from the Ebro region of Spain, has been a rower since the age of 10. Interestingly, before getting into rowing, Aina was a ballerina, which really helped her become a better rower. She has represented the Spanish team since 2011 and at just 27 years old she has had great success in her sporting career.

Her track record includes:

➤ 2 Olympic diplomas from the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
➤ 1 Bronze medal in the 2018 world rowing championships.
➤ Gold, silver and bronze medals in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 European championships.

She was also named best female Catalan athlete of 2020 and best rower in the world in July 2020.

Alongside her sporting achievements, Aina has an impressive academic record. She obtained a degree from The Ohio State University (US) where she studied Sports Sciences.  During her 4-year course, she competed with her university team and won three national competitions.  After finishing her degree, Aina specialised in child motor development at Liverpool John Moores University.
