In both endurance physical activity and in high-intensity interval sports or strength training, exercise entails certain muscle damage. The two main reasons are: the use of proteins as a source of energy and the micro-injuries caused by the thousands of contractions of the muscle fibres.
Protein is the most important macronutrient for the formation and preservation of muscle mass and, unlike carbohydrates, the body is not able to store it. Its structure which is formed by different types of amino acids, both essential (not synthesised by our body) and non-essential, requires an adequate intake through food, especially when the sport requires a high level of physical performance.
ISO WHEY Leucine+ combines two high-quality protein sources in its formulation: Arla Foods Ingredients Group P/s protein isolate obtained by cross-flow microfiltration (CFM) and Arla® whey concentrate (Lacprodan®).
In addition, ISO WHEY Leucina+ has been enriched with L-leucine (Ajinomoto Co), a branched-chain essential amino acid with great anabolic evidence, as well as vitamin B6 contributing to normal protein metabolism.
All of this gives us a gluten-free shake with a high protein concentration that is easily absorbed and provides 25 g of protein with high biological value per serving and, depending on the flavour, between 6,66 and 7,04 grams of BCAA.
