Considered from an early age as one of the brightest emerging talents of Spanish tennis, in 2009 he won gold and bronze at the XVI Mediterranean Games, held in Pescara. However, he had to wait until he was 24 to enter the international top 100 ranking, which he achieved with three triumphs at this level Challenger.
