After breaking onto the Spanish triathlon scene in 2014, securing a prize in the Triathlon-Cross (Calella-BCN) race, he went on to add an incredible third-place result in the legendary Zarautz Triathlon in the same year. He then finished 2014 off by racing to a first place finish in the Half Triathlon of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Since then, Ruvireta has continued to shine among the best Spanish triathletes at middle-distance.
In 2015, he took part in the Half Challenge Salou (Tarragona), where he managed a respectable seventh global finish and was the second Spanish competitor to cross the line, with time of 3.47.21. (1.9 Swim - 90 Bike -21.1 Run). He suffered injury in the Spanish Middle-Distance Triathlon Championship in Valencia that same year, although he was still able to finish the race in fourth place.
He returned in 2016 and once again achieved a podium finish in the Half Triathlon Iruña (Pamplona) with a time of 4.01.56 coming home in 3rd place. He finished the year with two victories; one in the V Triathlon Cabo de Gata at Middle Distance (Nijar-ALM), with a time of 4.04.08; and another in the International Triathlon-B in Banyoles (Girona) with a time of 3.51.41.
Now in 2017, Ruvireta has retained once more his place on the podium in the Triathlon of Pamplona, this time with a middle-distance time of 3.52.58 which was enough to win the bronze. He also came first in the Half-Triathlon of La Rioja-2017 with a time of 4.14.21, and came third in the Half-Triathlon of Buelna (Cantabria) with 4.01.35.
He studied forestry and industrial engineering at University, and is currently a member of the fire department of the city of Barcelona.
